The sentencing of three members of Russian female punk rock collective Pussy Riot has sparked a global response to an oppressive system of blatant and ubiquitous repression. From Hollywood actors to rock n roll royalty, European politicians to Russian socialites, the support these three girls have received reinforces the fact that a state like Putin’s has no place in present day society. RIP Kim Jong-Il
International man of mystery Kim Jong-Il died of a heart attack Saturday while traveling in his armored train. His passing brings an end to his 17 year reign — one that featured extreme cruelty, bizarre propaganda and a severe oppression of the people of North Korea. Let’s all take a moment to look back at his career, he did invent the hamburger after all.
