Our love affair with the Edinburgh shop Goodstead continues! Their latest lookbook feels like going home to mom’s house and we can’t get enough.
Each season Goodstead releases a lookbook featuring some of the hottest styles in the shop as well as frequent customers! We love this real world approach to finding models, and we have to say, they’ve got some good looking clientele! This season Nikki, Goodstead store manager and women’s buyer, was inspired by the wide range of texture and patterns that inhabited her racks. The mixing of all these different materials brought her to the idea of quilts, which then expanded to all the comforts of home — hence the editorial’s name Home Comforts — and you’ll see many homestead joys like laundry baskets, Matryoshka dolls, fun little lamps and the like. Nikki’s inspiration was then brought to life by the talented Alix McInstosh who photographed the project. A gorgeous, autumnal hued patchwork quilt is hung in the background of each shot, lending a homey feel to the photographs, and another covers the ground in the head to toe images. We are so excited to be included in this shoot — two of our Fall styles, the Marie in black and brandy as well as the Kia in brandy are worn by the models and the colours fit perfectly with the theme! One of our favorite looks features this quirky, loose fitting Henrik Vibskov Mcphee Cape in an orange, pink and blue pattern, worn with Minimarket’s Baker Hat, half hunter half Moroccon-chic. The outfit is topped off with our black and brandy Marie wedge! Other great pieces from brands like Something Else, YMC, menswear line Common People and Wood Wood just to name a few are included — and we hope that one day we’ll be looking as cute as this model does while doing laundry! A girl can dream.
