Though London Collections: Men is now behind us, we're still reliving some great moments. Amongst them is the Lee Roach SS15 show. Minimal and uniform are the keywords when it comes to Lee Roach. His collections are stripped of all unnecessary noise, instead showing sharp lines and a certain cleanness almost untypical to London. His SS15 collection was no different, and here his love for uniform transmutes a military vibe via khaki - obviously - but also through the more subtle circles and stripes, belts and buckles. Even the zipper boots! It isn't easy to do something minimal and in a way monotonous in a way that's still exciting but Roach succeeds. Though colours in his work are few and far between and his silhouettes are clean, his end result is just as intense and bold as a medley of colours, prints and over the top shapes. Rather than constructing something overbearingly complex, he allows the garments to speak for themselves and puts his attention to small details to transform the looks. Simply put, it works. Pictures from the show are all by Alice Zielasko.
