Remember our friends over at Wildfang? The baddest, raddest tomboys have been busy with a project they've just launched, starring Evan Rachel Wood. Alongside the indie darling, the short film features Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, the one and only Beth Ditto, a mascot-hating NBA star Robin Lopez and lots of fashion, including a pair our shoes! The pitch of the film is simple enough - take Yes Man, replace Carrey with Wood et voila. Wildfang sent her on a tour of Portland and this is what happened. Obviously styled in an authentic Wildfang aesthetic (which we're so happy to be a part of), the film isn't just a fashion film. It's to inspire people to be more fearless! Saying 'yes' should be about bringing you together with more fun and more adventures. Wildfang set out on a journey with Wood to capture the curious, adventurous spirit of tomboys with this project, showing all the fun you can have when you embrace girl power, be a bit ballsy and do new things. It's sweet and cool and motivating - it makes you want to do things, too! I'm even considering taking my Miistas off for a moment to tackle my arch nemesis that is running! That's how motivating it feels. This said, I'm pretty sure I would not have the balls to have a karaoke sing-off with Beth Ditto; I know my limits? But then, it's BETH DITTO! Maybe I'd manage to suck it up and do it, like Evan Rachel did. As part of the project they've also created a T shirt to support the charity Friends of the Children. The mentors from the charity spend four hours each and every week with the kids in their programme. They're fully dedicated to providing support and stability to vulnerable kids, being there for them in the span of 12 and a half years! They see their mentees from kindergarten to high school, making sure that regardless of their background, they have a fair shot at a happy life. Literally all sales proceeds from the shirt will go to the charity. I really do mean all, as in one hundred per cent, not $2 per tee or anything. So, if you buy the shirt you'll be supporting that. #EvanRachelWould I'll watch the video one last time and then it's back to work. Meanwhile we're sending all our love to Team Wildfang, Evan Rachel Wood and Friends of the Children!
