*PREVIEW* MIISTA AW16: HARMATTAN
Just a few days ago, we shot the lookbook for our AW16: Harmattan, one of Miista's most exciting collections - if not THE most - to date. The collection plays heavily on a nomadic desert tribe and the sandy, sun-kissed backdrop of the Sahara. Featuring experimental rhombus shaped heels, square toes, and textural materials, Miista Autumn/Winter 16 is both opulent and punk.
Our resident photographer, Alice Zielasko, took a few pictures behind the scenes at our photoshoot. Showcasing the artful backdrop, featuring one of the key colours in the collection, the abstract nature of the shoot, and the interpreted desert tribe in combination with British characteristics.
The materials range from rich, earthy tones to decorated fringe and patterned patent leathers. Metallic hardware takes inspiration from 1950s oversized buckles and hoop earrings.
The makeup for the shoot draws on abstract metallics and natural flows. Hair was brought up at a standstill, as if stuck in a moment of time. The primary inspiration for this was from this beautiful picture of two Tuareg children playing.
Here are a few more behind the scenes photos. Get ready for next winter!
