Are you a new Imelda Marcos?
A girl can never have too many shoes, as long as the filing system works.
"I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes. I had one thousand and sixty" - Imelda Marcos
"What we are selling is not something valuable but it is something invaluable because it's only beauty that can feed the spirit," Marcos said
IMELDA MARCOS may already own 18,000 pairs of shoes, but she intends to keep collecting. The former First Lady of the Philippines and famous footwear addict was spotted stocking up in Russell & Bromley on Bond Street recently. "I saw a rather fat looking Filipina woman buying up shoes like there was no tomorrow," a fellow shopper told theEvening Standard. "She looked rather preoccupied and was staring at her feet in the mirror a lot. Then I realised it was Imelda." A spokesman for the British shoe store confirmed the the Marcos sighting. "Mrs Marcos came in with two girlfriends on Monday lunchtime," he said. "She left before the others, who ended up paying for Imelda's shoes as well as their own."
She bought normal shoeslike anyone else. They were inexpensive and regular women's shoes, nothing really extravagant or fancy. However, she bought them in large quantities and that's what made her famous.
