Artists@Miista Live Sessions

Many of our creative friends and artists are currently not able to do their day to day job due to current lockdown circumstances. We are experiencing it ourselves, scattered in our homes, trying to create and collaborate. We were looking for a way for our combined following to support creators through these times while learning something valuable in return. It makes creatives on both ends busy and productive. Get ready for a series of artists take-overs on our IG Live. Every week two of our favourite artists will teach you something new on our platform:

1. Join our live IG Q&A session after lesson 2. Prepare to be un-bored and mark your calendars for the lineup to come:

Artist-Mailer

During their live session your favourite artists will be sharing a CODE. And when you place an online order at Miista.com, and introduce that code at checkout, we'll be donating 30% of our revenue of the purchase to each of these artists to support their work during times where they're not able to create outside of the digital world. We're in this together. Each week we'll be presenting you with new interactive classes from the most talented creatives we know. MIISTA PRESENTS

This week we proudly present two live classes with Simone and Alejandra.

ALEJANDRA SMITS

“Poetry is everywhere, it’s unavoidable” She writes, does performances and intervenes in different types of creative projects.

Alejandra-Smits-(3)

Alejandra Smits is a multidisciplinary artist who likes to explore all types of formats, but narrating is always the backbone of every single one of her projects. And in the end, it’s always the same thing: telling stories.

Tune in IG Live this Tuesday for her Interactive Poetry Class. 7th April 20, 5pm UK time

5PM UK time, 6PM EU time, 12PM NY time, 9AM LA time (Add to calendar)

SIMONE BODMER-TURNER

Simone Bodmer-Turner Studio LLC is a ceramic sculpture and design studio based in New York which is composed of two complementary bodies of work. The Permanent Collection of Vessels, designed by Bodmer-Turner in 2017 and produced in our Brooklyn studio, is a collectible line of vases designed for minimal floral arranging or to stand on their own as sculptural objects. The body of clay sculpture is the artist's personal practice, both biomorphic and architectural, and inspired by the human body and the organic movement found in the natural world. Every piece made by hand and each is a unique expression.

Simone-Bodmer-4

The artist draws on techniques gleaned during trips to Japan and Mexico – on the latter, she worked with women in Atzompa who have worked with and fired clay in outdoor wood kilns for generations. Her pieces embrace the irregularities and idiosyncrasies formed by the human hand.

Tune in IG Live this Thursday for her Interactive Sculpture Class. 09th April 20, 5pm UK time

5PM UK time, 6PM EU time, 12PM NY time, 9AM LA time (Add to calendar)

You know the gist. See you on the other side of a screen.
